In 2013, high school football player Wesley Baker was walking down a highway in Conway, South Carolina when he was struck by a large truck. The accident nearly killed him and left him with severe injuries. He suffered brain damage and lost most of his right leg. His parents say Wesley has worked hard since then to become more mobile and hopefully get out of his wheelchair. And while in attendance last Friday at one of the many games they attend each week, Wesley stood for the first time during the national anthem, a dream come true, said his parents.
